In areas where the use of wet lubricants is not possible the use of graphite lubricants is a possibility. An example is where electricity may be an issue. Another example may be in the form of lubrication of a porous substance like wood which is subject to stain by oil or other components. Hence graphite will be able to dissipate more heat.
